Tech-Savvy: Educating Girls in the New
Computer Age
In the spring of 2001,
Reston-Herndon branch members Elizabeth Vandenburg, Clare Klunk, and
Laura Jones applied for and received a Community Action Grant from the
Educational Foundation to create and distribute a short video to
educate parents, guidance counselors and technology teachers on the
importance of encouraging girls in technology. This project covered a
two-year period and has become a model for educators in this
area.
