AAUW of Virginia uses the POINTS OF PRIDE PROGRAM to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of the branches in Virginia. All branches are encouraged to submit information for the Points of Pride Branch Recognition Program in one or more of the following categories:  Outstanding and Innovative Programming, Influencing Public Policy, Community Outreach and Involvement, and Breaking Barriers and Initiating Change.

Branches are asked to send a summary of 50 words or less about a program or ongoing project between April 2007 and March 2008 and are encouraged to send program summaries for as many nomination categories as possible. Please specify your branch name and the category at the top of your summary.

Branches are also encouraged to nominate one branch member, current or former, under the category of Pioneer Women – Breaking Barriers and Initiating Change. To nominate a branch member simply send a short summary detailing the individual’s accomplishments and why the branch considers her to be a pioneer woman.

Awards in both categories will be presented to branches at the 2008 AAUW State Convention to be held in Roanoke April 11-13.
