This
year, we are stressing the value of your investment—in
life, time, work, interests, as well as money.
We are considering specifically these two topics:
- Economics—Educating
Ourselves: what we need to know to invest our money and our time
wisely, what we may not know but should know about the national
economy, credit; interpretation/translation of “economics” on a
personal level. What is microfinance anyway?
- Stories of
inspiration—how have women in other countries managed in
the midst of acute poverty, lack of education, etc.
What stories of personal transformation and
triumph can we learn from current or older fiction, biographies,
history, and a living person
Any interested
woman—from highschooler to grandmother—is
cordially invited to attend. Branch
meetings are generally held the second Monday of each month at the
Falls Church Community Center, 223 Little Falls St.
Other activities include the book sale prep team, Capitol Hill Lobby
Corps opportunities, book discussion group, and dinner events.
